I can't beleive it's almost a year since I've added something here. Time really flies when life is good.

What's been happening? Well the jobb is brilliant, I still enjoy working at Clas. Our house feels like home and football is so satisfying at the moment.

Wolves are finally back where they belong .... in the Premier League. This season I won the Championship in front of Birmingham City.

LKS Lodz are midtable in the Orange liga (polish PL) and Skeid have started the season with 2 wins, a draw and a lose. At the moment they're sixth with a game in hand.

Aleksandra has finally won a music competition solo. She came first and won the Audience prize in Nordstrand Rotary Clubs "Talantiaden". Well done love.

Next week is ESC, The Eurovision Song Contest, the show everyone loves to hate. This year it will be extra interesting because the Norwegian representative, Alexander Rybak, is a local lad. He went to Aleksandra's school, Foss Videregående.

Finally I have some time to write here again. A lot has happened since the last time I appeared here. We finally sold the flat and are VERY satisfied with the price.
Beata is happy and that means I'm happy.
I also started a new job.I am now part of the family in Clas Ohlson, Storo department :)
I've met some great people there amongst others an up and coming Pop star,
Marika Lejon  Visit her My Space page

At the moment I'm on holiday....sort of... Beata and Aleksandra are away for 6 weeks, so I can relax, sit by the PC and watch DVD's. HEAVEN!!!

The football season didn't bring the rewards I hoped for, no PL football for Wolves but next season....
LKS Lodz stayed in the Orange liga (polish PL) and Skeid are top of the Norwegian 3rd division, so it's wasn't a complete disaster.

I was talking to a friend today about relationships. The big question was "If you break up with a person but still have feelings for them, should you go back to them?".
My thoughts are, there is a reason you broke up and that reason won't change in such a short time. Stay away and let fate take hand. Mr/Miss Right is out there, you just have to have patience.
What ever you do don't try to sell yourself on ebay like this fellow "Dumped husband Ian Usher puts his life on eBay to leave Australia".

It's been a while since I been able to write something. Too much to do and too little time.

What's been happening, you ask? Well, we bought the terraced house and will get the key's by April 1st. We are now trying to sell our flat.
We've had a weekend of showings and only two people came. We've decided to wait until after Easter, maybe mid April to show it again. There's no rush though. Anyone interested? Any offers over 1.79 million will be welcome.

Another thing that's been happening is, I've received a couple of job offers. Not bad, when you think that I'm not looking for a new job. One of them is very tempting though. So thinking caps on.

Internet for porn, not politics: Ex Polish PM:

Jaroslaw Kaczynski, former prime minister in Poland, is totally against Poles being allowed to vote online because the Internet attracts people who watch
"pornography while sipping a bottle of beer,"

It makes my wife so proud of her heritage when she hears her countrymen talk like this....NOT!!!

Talking about Poland. On Sunday we will be taking a well deserved holiday in our house in Lodz. I've already picked out the films I'll see at the cinema.

1. Stephen King's - "THE MIST"

2. 10.000 BC

3. No Country for Old Men

I'm also looking forward to going to Manufaktura and eating the delicious Pirogi in "Pierrogeria". Here's a turists review:

Very nice atmosphere, and the food is very, very good. I preferred the oven baked pierogi to the boiled ones.
The English translation of the menu is pretty good, and you'll be able to find something you like. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful day! Once again we woke up to beautiful weather, but unlike last week,  Wolves won yesterday , away from home against Crystal Palace.
The result? Palace 0 Wolves  2. The goals were scored by  Gray and Kyle. . Now we only have to continue with this winning thing.

I just watched the "tackle" in the Birmingham v Arsenal game. Auu! That looked painful. I hope it's not as bad a break as it looked.
I wish Eduardo good luck and hope your career isn't over.

So how do you demonstrate against your neighbouring country's indepence?  After Kosovos announcement last week, Serbs in the capital of Serbia, Beograd, went amok.
The demonstration consisted of flag burning, attacking the US embassy and breaking into shops and looting!!!
That's great it will really make the Kosovars think twice about what they've done.

"Brilliant!! We've now taken the livelihood from one of our fellow Serbs, that will make those Kosovars scared".

Yesterday we went to the property broker to sign the contract of the new house. A bit premature, I think. We won't know until next Tuesday if the house is ours. We're still waiting for the result of this preemption thingy.

Ah well, we had nothing better to do yesterday anyway.

I had a phone call from a friend of mine today, Espen Grjotheim. He's just got back from a tour of Germany and Italy. I had to tell him how proud I was of his song on the new "Secret Garden" cd. He sing's Rolf Løvlands ""My Land". Imagine being on the same cd as Barbara Streisand. Cool!! Go Espen!!

  Espen

I thought I had a large record collection, with 15,000 albums and 8.000 cds plus plus. Well I was wrong. There is a man who's collection includes more than 6 million songs on 3 million records and 300,000 compact discs. Jeez!! Good news though....it's for sale on eBay and only costs about 3 million US dollars. I think I have to start saving.

How many of you are on "Facebook" ? I finally got fed up of all the invites friends sent me. I am now there with 43 friends. Don't be afraid to add me!

What I can't understand is why do I spend so much time there? How many quizzes can you take? Do we really need to know what flower we are like? It seems like it because I'm in there all the time.

When I'm not there, I'm wasting my time trying to be the new Arsene Wenger or Drillo on "Hattrick". My life revolves around this. Talk about addicted. I'm also spending time here.

                                   Welcome to the Darkside.

Kosovo declares independence.
Kosovo's parliament declared the territory a nation today. Serbia and Russia were quick to denounce our newest Europeam nation, while Britian and the US gave the republic recognition. Germany, France and probably the rest of EU will probably follow the US here.
I say welcome and good luck to the Republic of Kosovo. I'm just wondering what you will live off? Up to now remittances from Kosovars living abroad accounts for an estimated 13 percent of GDP, and foreign assistance for around 34 percent of GDP.

So I woke up
today still feeling dissappointed over yesterday's FA cup match, looking out the window and seeing the beautiful weather put me in better spirits. Sunshine and plus degrees in february is fine by me. I watched the "Biatholan" world championships, for the non- skiing fans, this is a mixture of cross country skiing and hunting. Norway received a gold, Emil Hegle Svendsen, and a silver medal,Ole Einar Bjørndalen. Heia Norge!!

I had to laugh when I read Sky News:
Police are hunting a knife-wielding "little old lady" who tried to rob a post office.
The woman threatened the cashier and demanded money.
But the bandit - aged between 65 and 70 - shuffled away empty handed when staff activated alarms.
The pensioner - who struck in Northenden, Manchester - is described as white, and about 5ft 2in.She was of medium build with dark hair and was wearing a purple jacket.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the robbery attempt, which happened at 11am on Thursday, to get in touch.

Today is FA cup day. Most people in Norway ( and around the world) will say Arsenal vs Manchester United is the big game!!!! Wrong here in my abode it's the Cardiff vs Wolves game. I'm hoping Mick McCarthy (the Wolves manager) get's his brain working and play's the right players. Maybe let Freddy Eastwood start for a change. He might surprise you, MM!  16.00 cet is the time the game starts. Will I be happy two hours later? Probably not! When you support a team like Wolves you learn to expect the worst
Come the Wolves!!!

In today's Aftenposten ( a Norwegian daily newspaper) there is a piece from Germany:
Left wing politician Christel Wegner (60) said in an interveiw on the TV station ARD, amonst other things, the following:
The [Berlin] Wall was necessary. It was needed to keep the citizens of West Germany from crossing into DDR.

Yes, baby, it was every westerners dream to go and live in this communist paradise.

Moving house
After living in our flat for almost 10 years. My wife and I have decided to move house. We finally found the place we wanted. A terraced house in the right area. On Monday we entered the bidding. It started at NOK 1.900.000,- we jumped in at NOK 2.050.000,- and finally won at NOK 2.200.000,-. That's 150 thousand over the valuation. We happily started to congratulate ourselves and planning the move when the property broker called. There's something called preemption. We now have to wait 20 day's to see if any members of the cooperative wants to buy.

Hopefully, us offering so much over the valuation will frighten all would be competition and we can move in April.

Our flat will be on the market shortly for NOK 1.800.000,- . Løp og kjøp!!

Salam Pax - Faens bomber- Nettlogg fra Bagdad
The other day I was given this book. Thanks Kami, I love it. This gave me the incentive to try blogging. Let's see how it works out.

As you see from the title, the book is in Norwegian, a language I know perfectly, it's just that English is my native language and I feel more at home blogging in it.

Okay, back to the book. If you haven't read it you can do two things:

1. Buy or borrow it

2. Go to the blog "Where is Raed" and read it:

     http://dear_raed.blogspot.com/

Salam Pax gives us his feelings about music and Saddam Hussain before and during the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
